Location and Climate
Location:
Las Tacas is located in Region lV of Chile, 455 Km. from Santiago and only 27 Km. from the city of La Serena.
Climate
Thanks to its location in the northern central area of Chile, the climate is mild, with clear skies and low humidity. Las Tacas boasts a microclimate, with littler variation between high and low temperatures. In summer, daytime temperatures can rise to 25 ºC, with cool and pleasant temperatures of 15 ºC at night and no rainfall. Mornings may be overcast, but clouds often clear around noon giving way to clear skies and warm temperatures. In winter, temperatures drop slightly with little rainfall.
In the rest of the Elqui Valley, inside the province, temperatures get warmer and the area is very fertile due to the Elqui River. The Elqui Valley boasts one of the clearest skies in the Americas and in the world.
